When building the new HMS Mirdif Hospital in Dubai, the challenge was to integrate a modern yet user-friendly solution for OR video management and documentation – tailored to the needs of planners, technicians, surgical nurses and surgeons.

Solution

The EIZO CuratOR solution was used with the Surgical Panel SP1-49T and the Caliop vm and doc software modules. The intuitive touch operation, plug-and-play connection of video sources and complete integration into the hospital IT system met all technical and practical requirements.

State-of-the-Art Surgical Technology for an Exclusive Hospital

The HMS Mirdif Hospital in Dubai had an ambitious goal for its new building: it wanted to become the most modern multidisciplinary hospital in the region – with a focus on innovation, patient centricity and excellence. This was particularly clear in the operating theatres: only a well-designed, intuitive and networked solution for video management and surgical documentation would be acceptable.For hospital planners, architects and medical technicians, this meant high demands on integration, data security and user-friendliness. At the same time, surgical nurses and surgeons needed a system that would fit seamlessly into the workflow, be intuitive to use and ensure complete documentation – without any technical headaches. The challenge was therefore to satisfy all stakeholders with a uniform solution that combines maximum technical performance with uncomplicated usability.

EIZO CuratOR – Intuitive, Networked, Efficient

EIZO provided the answer to this complex requirement with its CuratOR solution for operating theatre video management and documentation. The Surgical Panel SP1-49T is used in combination with Caliop vm and Caliop doc software in the four state-of-the-art operating theatres at HMS Mirdif Hospital.
The SP1-49T integrates the monitor and PC into the wall in a space-saving manner – with an intuitive touchscreen and full access to PACS and EMR systems. For medical technicians, this means easy integration into the existing IT structure. For operating theatre staff, it means a clear user interface that bundles all functions related to live video, source switching and documentation.
Thanks to plug-and-play connections to light and room cameras as well as SDI interfaces, all video signals are automatically captured. An external EIZO EX3140 31″ monitor on the ceiling light bar also provides razor-sharp live images directly in the surgeon’s field of vision.
EIZO also impresses beyond the operating theatre: in the hospital’s meeting room, the 58″ EX5841 4K monitor ensures optimal display of medical images – for interdisciplinary meetings, for example.
