EIZO Introduces Video-over-IP Encoder and Decoder for Lossless 4K Transmission in Digital OR Environments

EIZO GmbH today announced the CuratOR Alipe TIP0811 – a video-over-IP solution comprising an encoder and decoder for video management in digital OR (operating room) integration. As the successor to the TIP0810, the TIP0811 delivers practical design updates and improved cost performance while maintaining reliability and flexibility required for device networking in surgical environments.

Modern ORs and examination rooms are increasingly equipped with a growing number of stationary and mobile devices, creating a growing need for centralized, flexible distribution and management of a wide variety of signals. The CuratOR Alipe TIP0811 meets these demands with a future-proof video-over-IP solution designed for surgical environments. Comprising an IP encoder (TIP0811-T) and decoder (TIP0811-R), the solution enables reliable transmission of high resolution video, audio, and device signals across the OR and adjacent areas. This centralized approach streamlines workflows in the operating room to facilitate safe and efficient team coordination during procedures.

Developed on the same technical foundation as the previous generation, the TIP0811 continues to leverage a 10 Gbps infrastructure for lossless transmission of 4K video at 60 Hz without compression. Its scalable system architecture supports long-distance transmission without limiting system size. Image transmission occurs without visible delay, providing physicians with a highly realistic sense of movement to support precise hand-eye coordination during delicate procedures, such as endoscopy.

The integrated KVM functionality allows users to display and control multiple image sources simultaneously on a single screen using layouts such as Picture-in-Picture, Side-by-Side, and QuadView. Each of the sources can be operated via a single keyboard, mouse or touch screen over the Alipe network, even when the PCs are located remotely.

The TIP0811 solution features fanless operation for silent performance and effective heat dissipation without moving parts. This design also preserves laminar airflow in the OR, preventing any additional particle dispersion that could result from mechanical components. The housing design has been refined with smooth surfaces to meet stringent OR hygiene standards. Furthermore, the TIP0811 encoder and decoder are significantly more compact and lightweight then previous models, occupying less than half the space and saving valuable room in equipment-dense environments.

The TIP0811 supports open and standardized interfaces so it can be used seamlessly with devices from a wide range of manufacturers. This allows the solution to be seamlessly integrated into new and existing systems while meeting individual installation needs. With its advanced technology, streamlined design, and scalable architecture, the CuratOR Alipe TIP0811 delivers practical enhancements for the digital OR. It serves as a key component in creating modern, networked working environments that support efficient and safe surgical workflows.
