Product Features
High-Fidelity Imaging for True Reproducibility
Mini LED + Local Dimming + EIZO Algorithm for Exceptional Brightness and Contrast
Conventional edge‑lit monitors position LEDs along the edges of the screen, limiting backlight control and weakening contrast. EX3245H employs a high‑density, full‑array Mini LED backlight to achieve a peak brightness of 1900 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. The Mini LED backlight is divided into more than 2,000 local dimming zones, managed by EIZO’s unique control algorithm for precise, localized adjustment of brightness and contrast, clearly rendering fine blood vessels and tissue structures.
Reduced Reflections
The EX3245H employs optical bonding to enhance visibility. By filling the gap between the LCD module and cover glass with resin, optical bonding reduces ambient reflections and maintains high image clarity, even when is viewed from an angle. The bonded screen also minimizes washout, producing deeper blacks and ensuring excellent visibility under the bright lighting conditions of the operating room.
4K UHD Surgical Imaging
The monitor’s 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels), four times that of full HD, faithfully reproduces surgical images from endoscopes, surgical microscopes, and robotic-assisted surgical systems.
Mini LED + HDR Gamma Support for Imaging Clarity
HDR (High Dynamic Range) is a display technology that reproduces natural variations in brightness and delivers rich color. The monitor supports both PQ (Perceptual Quantization) and HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) transfer functions for supporting HDR-compatible endoscopic cameras. Its Mini LED backlight with local dimming further enhances HDR performance by enabling precise control of subtle luminance gradations that cannot be reproduced with conventional edge-lit monitors.
Wide Color Gamut for Distinguishing Tones
During procedures, it is essential for the operating surgeon to distinguish subtle variations in color tones. The monitor supports the BT.2020 4K video color standard, ensuring that even slight differences in shades of red and yellow captured by BT.2020-supported cameras are clearly visible on the screen.
Extensive Connectivity and Power Features
Versatile Terminals
The monitor is equipped with BNC (12G‑SDI), DisplayPortTM, and HDMI® inputs, all supporting a 4K UHD video signal at 60 frames per second. In addition, the EX3245H offers an SDVoE (Software‑Defined Video over Ethernet) supported model variation, delivering high-quality, low-latency 4K video at 60 frames per second over standard Ethernet networks.
Streamlined Connectivity
By carrying both video and remote control signals over a single optical fiber cable, the SDVoE model helps to streamline system architecture across operating rooms.
External Device Integration
Equipped with RJ-45, RS-232C, and SDVoE (SFP+)* communication ports, the monitor allows control and integration with external devices. For example, when connected to the medical imaging recorder MIR-1 via RS-232C cable, the monitor can display a red tally light on-screen to show recording status, allowing the medical staff to check it without looking away from the surgical field.
*SDVoE supported model only.
Flexible Power Options with AC/DC Support
The monitor supports both AC and DC power input for greater installation flexibility. When using AC power, no external AC adapter is required, allowing for a cleaner and more space-efficient setup. For facilities that prefer DC operation to match their existing power infrastructure, EIZO offers a model that includes AC adapter so users can select the configuration that best suits their requirements.
DC Output for Powering External Devices
The monitor’s DC output supplies 5V/2A or 12V/2.5A (model not supporing SDVoE only) to power external devices such as wireless transmitters, helping streamline the overall power setup for peripheral equipment.
User-Friendly Design
Streamlined Design that Blends Safety with Aesthetics
The rounded, corner‑free frame promotes safety, while the flat protective glass with an anti‑fingerprint (AF) coating minimizes smudges and makes cleaning easier. The slim, uncluttered rear housing allows the monitor to integrate seamlessly into surgical environments without adding visual bulk.
LED-Illuminated Buttons for Clear Operation
Front-facing control buttons allow quick and convenient access to monitor functions, with LED indicators that illuminate only during active operation to minimize distraction during procedures. Clear on-screen guidance further ensures smooth and intuitive operation.
Easy-to-Attach Connector Cover
A dedicated connector cover neatly conceals connection points to help maintain a safe and hygienic workspace. The slide-lock design requires no screws or tools, allowing the cover to be attached or removed effortlessly.
Versatile Display and Control
Auto Brightness Control with Ambient Light Sensor
The monitor’s built‑in light sensor detects ambient lighting conditions and automatically adjusts screen brightness to optimal levels. This eliminates the need for manual adjustments when the operating room must be darkened, such as during ICG fluorescence‑guided surgery. Powered by EIZO’s proprietary control algorithm, the monitor responds seamlessly to changes in ambient light, maintaining optimal visibility in both bright and low‑light environments while helping reduce eye strain for surgeons.
Mirroring and 180-Degree Rotation
The monitor supports horizontal mirroring and 180-degree rotation, allowing image orientation to be adjusted to match the viewing angle of surgeons and assistants, regardless of the endoscopic camera’s position.
Dual-Screen Display on One Screen
Equipped with PinP (Picture-in-Picture) and PbyP (Picture-by-Picture) functions, the monitor allows simultaneous display of two different input signals side by side. This is especially useful during surgery when monitoring multiple modalities is required.
Independent Display Modes for Dual-Screen Viewing
When displaying two images simultaneously, each can be individually set to the optimal display mode, such as gamma 1.8 – 2.6 or DICOM Preset Mode, depending on the type of modalities, including endoscopy, CT, or MRI.
Pass-Through Display to Additional Monitors
With BNC (12G-SDI), and DisplayPort output terminals, input from surgical devices can be easily passed through to other monitors via simple cabling. This enables synchronized display across multiple monitors in the operating room, facilitating smooth information sharing among medical staff.
Fail-Safe Display for Signal Loss Protection
Equipped with an “Auto Input Detection” function that automatically switches to another connected input port when a video signal is lost. This fail-safe mechanism ensures continuous display and reliability even due to a system error or other external interference.
High Durability and Reliability
High Durability
The monitor front is covered with 9H hardness protective glass to shield the LCD screen from impact. Additionally, optical bonding eliminates the air gap between the protective glass and the LCD panel, preventing damage caused by dust, moisture, or other contaminants.
Condensation Prevention
Optical bonding prevents condensation between the LCD panel and protective glass, even in environments with significant temperature fluctuations, ensuring consistent display visibility.
Rest Assured with Medical and Safety Standards
To ensure safety and reliability in medical environments, the monitor complies with various medical, safety, and EMC standards.
3-Year Warranty
EIZO and its authorized distributors offer a 3-year warranty backed by strict quality control.
